This manual explains how to configure the geo-fencing option for attendance based on specific work venues. Geo-fencing allows employees to punch in for attendance only when they are within a designated geographical area. This helps ensure that attendance is accurately recorded based on location.
Steps to Configure Work Venue Level Geo-Fencing
Step 1: Access the Work Venue Option
- Navigate to client for which you want to setup geo-fencing.
- Select the Work Venue option which is available under client.
Step 2: Create a New Work Venue
Create new workvenue using + symbol which is available in workvenue option.
Fill the complete details with mandatory field
- Office Name: The name of the office or work site.
- Office Address: The full address of the work venue.
- Location Coordinates:
- Latitude: The latitude value of the location.
- Longitude: The longitude value of the location.
- Radius: The radius in meters that defines the geo-fenced area around the location.
Created work venue along with radius will indicates that Geo fencing.
Employee mapped workvenue will allow with in the fecning radius to punch the attaendance.
Step 3: Map Work Venue to Employees
- Navigate to the employee's profile under the client staffing details.
- Map the created work venue to the respective employee. This mapping ensures that the employee can punch in for attendance only when they are within the defined geo-fencing radius.
Step 4: Bulk Mapping of Work Venue to Employees
- Navigate to the Employee Bulk Excel Upload option.
- Download the template provided for employee bulk updates.
- Fill in the details for each employee, including:
- Employee ID
- Work Venue to be mapped
- Upload the completed Excel file back into the system.
- The system will process the Excel sheet and update the work venue mapping for all employees listed.
This bulk upload option makes it easier to map a work venue to multiple employees simultaneously, saving time and effort.
Notes
- The system uses the employee’s location at the time of punching in or out to verify if they are within the defined geo-fenced area.
- Only employees who are within the designated radius will be able to successfully record their attendance.
Troubleshooting
- Unable to Punch Attendance: Ensure that the employee is physically within the defined radius of the work venue.
- Geo-Fencing Not Detected: Verify that the latitude, longitude, and radius are correctly configured for the work venue.

- Accurate Coordinates: Make sure the latitude and longitude values are precise for accurate geo-fencing.
- Proper Radius Configuration: Set an appropriate radius to account for building entrances or minor GPS inaccuracies.
