Tax Type Mapping in StaffingGo
Tax type mapping in StaffingGo is determined based on three specific use cases. These rules define how the TAX Type will be assigned in invoices and payroll records.
Case 1: Tax Type – Client Invoice State Level
The Tax Type will be mapped based on the Client’s Invoice State.
Additionally, the Cost Center mapped to that particular client will also be considered.
✅ Use this when: Tax is applied at the overall client level for billing.
Case 2: Tax Type – Client Branch Invoice State Level
The Tax Type will be mapped based on the Client Branch Invoice State.
The Cost Center mapped to the specific client branch will be considered.
The same branch must also be mapped to the employee for proper tax applicability.
✅ Use this when: Tax applicability varies by branch location rather than at the overall client level.
Case 3: Tax Type – Bulk Import (Excel)
The Tax Type will be updated via a bulk Excel consultant import file.
The imported data will directly update and be captured in the Pay Register.
✅ Use this when: Large-scale updates to tax types are required for multiple consultants/employees at once.
Best Practice Tips
Always validate invoice state and cost center mappings before saving.
Use Case 2 for branch-specific compliance and employee-level accuracy.
Ensure bulk Excel uploads follow the correct template to avoid mismatches in payroll and reporting
